Give Directly to Hospice, Home Health, Infusion, or Caregiver Support

Thank you for your interest in supporting the care and comfort we provide to our patients. There is no more impactful way to do that than by making a direct gift to one of our services.

Every day at Duke HomeCare & Hospice, we provide families with healing, hope and comfort even when they are facing serious and life-limiting conditions. We cannot do it without your support.

Duke Hospice provides resources to meet the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of our community members, whether they are at home, in a hospital, in a skilled nursing facility, or in our inpatient hospice facility, Hock Family Pavilion, in Durham, NC. Our goal is to help those facing serious and life-limiting illness approach the end of life with dignity and comfort.

Our infusion team goes to the home of our patients--both children and adults--to administer intravenous medications, including antibiotics and chemotherapy. Our nurses, pharmacists, dietitians, and patient services coordinators work under the direction of each patient's doctor to monitor their needs and treatment.

Home infusion is a cost-effective approach to IV therapy that allows patients to receive treatment while resuming daily activities in the familiar surroundings of home. Every patient is encouraged to take an active role in their care and, when appropriate, even return to work. Being in the comfort of home and resuming normal activities can bring emotional benefits that help with healing.

Home Health

Many of our patients prefer home care, with good reason. Being at home provides emotional and physical associations, memories and comfort. We work with our patient’s doctors to develop an individualized plan of care to allow our patients to remain comfortably at home and maintain their independence while we attend to their medical needs.

Our home health providers offer skilled nursing care, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, social work services, and home health aide services.

Duke Caregiver Support Program

We assist caregivers in connecting to programs and services offered both within and outside the Duke Health System, at no cost to the caregivers. Caregiver Engagement Specialists provide information, referral, education and support.

We understand the important role that caregivers play in supporting and caring for their loved ones. Providing support to caregivers not only improves patient outcomes, it also decreases stress for carers and improves caregivers' confidence.

It’s an amazing thing to be in a patient's environment and be welcomed to teach a patient how to take care of themself. That’s a very personal thing and is probably the most rewarding thing that I have done in nursing.
